Welcome to BetterBritain. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you about how we look after your personal data when you visit our website and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
1. Who We Are
BetterBritain is the data controller and is responsible for your personal data (collectively referred to as "BetterBritain", "we", "us" or "our" in this privacy policy). If you have any questions about this privacy policy, including any requests to exercise your legal rights, please contact us at hello@betterbritain.co.uk.

3a. Cookies and Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (operated by Google LLC) to collect anonymised information about how visitors use our website. This helps us understand which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and how they navigate the site, so we can improve it.
Google Analytics uses cookies — small text files placed on your device — to collect Usage Data including pages viewed, session duration, approximate location (country/city level), browser type, and device type. This data is sent to and stored by Google on servers which may be located outside the UK.
We only load Google Analytics after you accept analytics cookies via the banner shown on your first visit. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or cookies. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google.
For more information on how Google uses data collected via our site, visit policies.google.com/privacy.

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:
- To register you as a new community member: Processing your application to join the trade-specific forums.
- To process brand accreditation: Evaluating your product or service for the BetterBritain mark.
- To communicate with you: Sending you updates regarding the movement, community news, and upcoming launches.
- Legitimate Interests: Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.
- Consent: Where you have given clear consent for us to process your personal data for analytics purposes.
5. Data Sharing
As promised on our registration forms, we will never sell your personal data. We may share your data with trusted third-party service providers acting as processors who provide IT and system administration services (e.g., our website host or email platform) strictly for the purpose of running the BetterBritain movement. Where you have consented to analytics, Usage Data is shared with Google LLC for the purposes described in section 3a.
6. Data Security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered, or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know.
7. Data Retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements.
